One Postdoctoral Position and One PhD Scholarship

Funding opportunities exist for one postdoctoral researcher and one PhD studentship in the School of Information and Communication Technology, Griffith University, Australia.

Successful candidates will work on a project in the semantic web and declarative knowledge representation, funded by Australian Research Council (ARC).

*** Postdoctoral Research Fellow ***
Candidates for postdoctoral researcher should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, logics, or related disciplines, preferably with a strong emphasis on Ontologies, Knowledge Engineering or Semantic Web.

Salary will be depending on qualifications and experience. This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 1.5 years.

*** PhD Student***
Candidates for PhD student should have Honours or Master degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, logics, or related disciplines, preferably with an emphasis on Knowledge Representation, Ontologies, Knowledge Engineering, or Semantic Web.

The PhD scholarship will be offered for a period of 3 years.

The positions are available from January, 2006. However, it is possible to start the project later than this, depending on the candidate's circumstances.
